House Rules

The following house rules are in effect:

  • Ambassadorship.  At any point in between sessions, a player can decide to retire a character. That character leaves his adventuring life behind and cannot be played in any following sessions. The character is assumed to be fulfilling some kind of role that enables more like-minded individuals to find their way to Westwend. Whenever a player creates a new first level character, he or she can opt to instead increase the starting level of that character to the level equal to the level of a retired character of the same class -2. If the newly created character also matches that retired character's subclass, the player can increase the character's level to the level of the retired character -1.   • Unlocking new options. Whenever a player retires a character to ambassadorship, that player can choose one subclass or subrace to be unlocked for play in the campaign (subject to DM approval). That subclass or subrace is then available for all characters in the campaign. When the town reaches a certain level of renown (based on the combined level of the ambassadors), there will be options for unlocking several sources simultaneously.

  • Bonus XP. If an adventure is logged, the entire party gains +10% XP.
